Michael Blasnik has pointed out that the correlation between peak load and peak PV production is not as good as we'd like it to be. In some cases and regions, as commercial loads start to diminish towards the end of the afternoon, residential loads spike to similar levels, but PV production has already started to taper off considerably.

I'm not arguing your main point, which is that distributed generation by means of roof-mounted PV is overall a good thing -- just saying that it's a little messier than it might sound at first. But isn't everything?
